If a specific card read badly, tell us the competition name and the date. That is enough for us to find it.

A score was read wrong. Open the card and tap the cell. You can correct any value directly, and the leaderboard updates. Every correction is recorded against the card, so a club can always see what was changed and by whom.

The points look wrong. Check the competition format, the handicap allowance, and the course layout on the competition page. Points are worked out from the par and stroke index for each hole, so if the layout is wrong the points follow it. If the card has par and stroke index printed on it, ScribbleScore uses the card.

A player is missing or duplicated. Open the card review screen. Any column ScribbleScore could not match confidently to a player is flagged there, and you can point it at the right person or add them.

The photo will not upload. Check that the whole card is in frame and in focus. Very large images are shrunk automatically, so file size is rarely the problem.

You cannot sign in. Sign-in codes expire after five minutes and land in spam more often than they should. If you have set a PIN you can use that instead. If you are locked out, email us.

• Photograph the card flat, with the whole card in frame.
• Even light beats bright light. Avoid a hard shadow across the middle of the card.
• Straight on rather than at an angle.
• One card per photo.
