Who you are agreeing with
ScribbleScore is provided by K2024490035 (Pty) Ltd trading as Lumanaire, registration number 2024/490035/07, 2-6a Lifestyle on Kloof, 50 Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town, 8001, South Africa. By using ScribbleScore you agree to these terms. If you are using it for a golf club or an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
What ScribbleScore does
You photograph a completed handwritten scorecard. ScribbleScore reads the card, works out the scores under the competition format you chose, and publishes a leaderboard. Accounts are for the people running competitions. Golfers do not need an account to view a result that has been shared with them.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in code and PIN to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account.
- Roles are set by the club's administrator. Scorers can read and correct cards. Administrators can also lock and publish results.
- You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings.
Other people's details
This is the obligation that matters most, so it sits on its own.
When you upload a scorecard you are giving us the names, handicaps and scores of every golfer on that card. You confirm that you are entitled to do so, ordinarily because those golfers entered the competition you are scoring. You also confirm you are entitled to have those results published on a leaderboard that anyone holding the link can open.
You agree not to upload anything that is not a golf scorecard for a competition you are running, and not to upload documents containing other personal information.
If a golfer asks you to remove their details, you can do so in the app, or ask us at hello@lumanaire.co.za.
Reading cards is not perfect
ScribbleScore reads handwriting, and handwriting is sometimes ambiguous. The app shows you what it read, flags anything it is unsure about, and asks you to confirm before a result is locked. Verifying the card before you publish is your responsibility, and the person running the competition remains responsible for the official result.
We are not liable for a prize awarded on a score that was published without being checked.
Availability
We aim to keep ScribbleScore running and improving, and we ship changes regularly. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may change or withdraw features. Anything significant is noted on What's new.
Your content, and ours
Scorecards, competitions and results you create remain yours, or your club's. You grant us the permission we need to store them, send them to be read, compute results, and show them to the people you share them with. ScribbleScore itself, including its name, design and software, remains ours.
Cost
ScribbleScore is free to download and free to use for the competitions you run today. If that ever changes we will tell you well in advance and never charge you without asking first.
Ending it
You may stop using ScribbleScore at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms, and we will explain why where we can.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited in law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which for a free product is nil.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
